AskDavidson is a web-based service providing, professional, generic financial advice.

In an industry still largely based on commission payments, it can be difficult to get truly honest independent advice. wherever you turn to get financial advice, there can sometimes be the feeling you are entering a sales process. The adviser only receives payment for his or her work if you take out a policy of some kind. This introduces an element of incentive for the adviser and can be detrimental to the quality of advice you receive.

At AskDavidson we provide a platform where you can receive generic financial advice without the above sales pressures. As we do not earn commission from any product or service or charge a fee for our time, we are free to provide advice without the usual commercial constraints of producing an income. We believe this puts us in a unique position to provide totally unbiased financial advice.

How much information can we provide to you for free?

It is important to point out that in order to create a safe and anonymous environment through which we can communicate, we do not ask for in-depth personal information. We hope this will lead to you feeling comfortable in asking any financial question you have. However, it also means that we cannot provide a detailed personal recommendation. This can only come from a face to face meeting with an independent financial adviser who will then take all your relevant details. So while this site is designed to provide initial guidance on financial issues, we would always strongly recommend that you see an independent financial adviser.

Who is Davidson?

AskDavidson was founded by Craig Davidson. Craig has been in the financial services industry for many years, having joined Scottish Widows after graduating from university with an economics degree. He worked for Scottish Widows in London and for Sun Alliance in Hong Kong, advising the expat community on investments. He then returned to the UK and joined a major high street bank, where he become a senior consultant, primarily working with business customers. He established Davidsons IFA limited in 2001 as a direct response to the growing sales culture within the financial services industry.
